“Ahem…so you and Alex, huh?” my granny asked me with a teasing smile, her eyes shone with happiness. My face heated up at her question, I was gaping at her like a fish out of water. She looked at me with amusement and mischief glistening in her eyes.
“We…um sort of talking with each other, while you walked in,” I stuttered blushing profusely, my granny gave me a full-blown belly laugh before speaking.
“Sure honey, the kiss he gave you when he left, tells me otherwise,” she teased me, pinching my both cheeks.
“Finally my granddaughter is getting a boyfriend, I’m so proud of you, sweetie.” She patted my head like I achieved a Nobel Prize. I pouted at her and swatted her hand playfully.
“I’m going to check on Eric,” I pointed my thump upstairs and awkwardly walked away from her, she chuckled at me softly.
“Cathie, Just don’t rush things with Alex, I heard that he lost his Girlfriend and still grieving for her death.” She advised, I stopped at the first step and gave her my full attention.
“Give him some space to adjust with you, will you?” she asked me with full of concern, I think my granny didn’t know that he was a werewolf, that’s why she was calling his mate as his girlfriend.
“Okay, but what happened to her? How did she die?” I was really curious about his mate’s death but I can’t ask him or anybody related to him. So I asked my granny.
“I don’t know honey but it’s been a year since she passed away.” She gave me a sad smile, she looks so sad. Was she feeling bad for Xander? I decided to drop the topic and nodded my head. I made my way upstairs, it was fifteen to six in the evening and Eric was asleep for almost two hours. Rachel will be here in any minute by now.
He was sitting on my bed and looking around my room when I entered. His face lit up once he saw me.
“Where is my big buddy?” he asked me with his baby voice.
“Big buddy?” I was amused that this little man gave a pet name for Xander.
“Yeah, he told me I’m his little buddy, so I named him, big buddy, isn’t that a cute name, Aunt Kitty?” He asked me with a toothy grin, I chuckled at him and sat him at my hip and made our way downstairs.
“Of course honey, it’s the cutest name and your big buddy left when you were asleep,” his little face dropped when he heard the latter part.
“But I assure you he will play with you when you visit us next time,” I cheered him up which put a big smile on his adorable face. We both heard the honking of a car, it must be Rachel.
I dropped Eric at the couch with my granny and packed his little spiderman backpack.
“Hey guys, where is my little nephew?” Rachel yelled with enthusiasm, I take it that her date went well to put her in a good mood.
After Rachel greeted me and my granny, she told me about her date with a guy named Noah, from the way she portrayed him, I could say that she was smitten by him.
After some hugs and kisses from my Little Eric, they bit farewell and left the place.
Sunday passed with me spending my time in gardening, I didn’t hear from Xander after that kiss which made me worried sick. Did he regret our kiss already? My car was not ready yet, it still takes one more week to deliver but I have university on Monday but thank goodness, Paul assured to give me a ride for this week.
The next morning I was dressed in a baby pink shirt with white stripes and blue faded jeans, I let my waist-length brown wavy hair down and wore my white converse to complete my look. I should admit that I look cute today, I made my way downstairs and kissed my granny’s cheek as a greeting.
“You look lovely, honey,” she smiled at me.
“Thank you, granny,” I returned her smile.
After my breakfast, Paul arrived, “Excited for the first day?” he ruffled my hair and beamed at me. Guess what? Your guy besties were more than enough to ruin your look; I shook my head disapprovingly at him and fixed my hair with my hands.
“Very much!” I gave him a sarcastic reply because I’m a little nervous. He chuckled at me and threw his arms around my shoulders, “Don’t worry shorty, I’ll be there to save your sorry ass.” He chirped while dragging me to his Mercedes.
“Gee, thanks! How considerate of you,” I scowled at him and flipped him the bird. His hearty chuckle vibrated from his chest, which made me bit my smile. Paul was annoying, whiney, childish, carefree who irritates me constantly but I can’t stay mad at him for long and not to forget that he was a good genuine friend.
We both arrived at my new university, something tells me that this day was going to be great.
