“I love you, Catherine,” he softly whispered still not breaking his focus from my eyes.
“I love you too, Alexander,” I whispered and buried my face in his chest.
He took my hand in his and we both walked into the water, “I’m warning you I’m not a good swimmer,” I murmured and wrapped my arms around his neck. His one arm was safely secured around my waist and lifted me.
“Don’t worry I’m here to save you milady,” he chuckled with his attempt of British accent which was not bad. The water was now to his chest and I was sure that I would be completely submerged into this water if it was not for Alexander.
We both swam and reached near the place where the water was falling fiercely from the top. His one arm was still wrapped securely around me. I could see some stone steps were carved on the rock mountain behind the waterfall. We swam and reached the bottom of those steps which was a little hard for me due to the force of water falling from the mountain top.
We both climbed up the steps which were covered with mosses and algae, “Be careful, it’s a little slippery,” he warned me and intertwined our fingers securely. There were cute little flowers on either side of the steps and the place looked so ancient.
When we reached the top, I placed my feet on algae which made me slip backwards but Alexander was fast to safe me, “Careful!” he yelled with concern due to the sudden action. His grip on our intertwined hands tightened.
“Sorry,” I softly murmured. He sighed and helped me to stand straight. He kissed my forehead and wrapped his arms around me securely.
“You gave me a heart attack, Please; promise me that you’ll be careful because I couldn’t think of losing you too” he murmured against my hair. I knew whom he was referring to and I kind of feel bad for him.
“I promise that I’ll be careful,” I whispered against his chest and pulled away from him. I kissed his chest and gave him a bright smile which made him smile in return. We both entered into the cave and I froze at my spot at the sight in front of me.
I froze at my spot at the sight in front of me.
The cave was covered with some ancient paintings on the rock. It was a picture of wolves, humans and a woman, who seemed to be respected by other werewolves.
“What is this place?” I whispered, still examining the paintings.
The woman had a powerful aura even in the paintings. “This is a sacred place, where we worship our moon goddess,” Alexander told me from my behind.
I turned my head to his direction and made an ‘O’ face which made him chuckle at me. I smiled at him and wrapped my arms around his bicep.
“Come on,” he dragged me further into the cave and there was a white flat stone laid on the high platform. It looked strange like it belonged to somewhere afar.
“What is that?” I pointed towards the white stone with inquisitiveness.
“It reminds our moon goddess and it is a sacred thing for our werewolves. We believe, it is a piece from the moon. No humans are allowed here and I’m in charge to protect this holy place because it is close to my pack territory.” He told me with a smile.
So I was the only human who visited this place, my eyes widened at the realization and the amount of trust he puts on me, to take me to this place. My heart swelled with love for him.
“Now, pray,” he told me. He closed his eyes and laid his right palm against the sacred stone. I copied his action and prayed to the moon goddess.
I prayed the goddess to give Alexander all the love and happiness and I prayed her to bless us with a child. A lump formed thinking about it but I swallowed it and opened my eyes to see the sacred stone shining bright like a moon. Alexander was still praying.
I took off my hand and looked at the sacred stone with wide eyes, “Um…Alexander, why does this sacred stone is shining?” I asked him with bewilderment.
He opened his eyes and gazed at me taking off his hand from the stone which made the sacred stone to become normal.
“It is not possible,” he told me with a puzzled look and gazed at the stone.
“Never mind, I must have imagined it,” I shrugged him off but I knew that I didn’t imagine.
“Come on, let’s go home” he took my hand in his and we both walked out of the cave.
“These rocks are very slippery,” I whined. He gave me a hearty laugh which made me smile but I composed myself and pretended to be mad at him.
“Are you laughing at me,” I crossed my arms near my chest, pretending to frown at him.
“Nope, we could always skip these steps, you know,” he wiggled his eyes brows suggestively. My face was stricken with horror at what he was implying on.
“Hell, no” I yelled and backed off from him. He gave me a cocky smirk and scooped me in his arms which made me shriek.
